Tree Cabling and Bracing

Trees are living things and, as such, have developmental flaws and sometimes have structural defects. Sometimes, Arborists may recommend structural supports like Cabling and Bracing to help support these defects found in trees. Tree cabling is a specialized service in arboriculture that calls for an experienced and equipped team. We utilize arboriculturally appropriate tools to supplement a tree's structure.

Risk is always the first factor when there is a question of whether to support a tree with cabling or bracing artificially. We never artificially support a tree if there is a possibility that it would be harmful to the tree's health or risk to people or property. Our team of professionals will discuss the risk factors and the health condition of the tree to recommend the best course of action for any tree.

Stump Grinding

Stump grinding is dirty and involves tremendous effort and specialized training and equipment to perform successfully. A stump is left behind when a tree is cut down, usually sticking out of the ground anywhere from a few inches to several inches high. These stumps have extensive root systems that make them impossible to remove from the ground – the only answer is to use heavy-duty equipment. Depending upon the stump's size, the grinder sometimes needs to be brought in by truck and hauled on-site.

Louisiana Tree Service in Baton Rouge has the equipment and experience to manage this portion of tree work for you. After the stump is gone, we can either leave you the wood chips to use for mulch or remove them for you. We can also cover the stump site with topsoil and seed or sod, leaving behind no trace of the stump.

We have built a reputation for customer service and expertise that our commercial and residential customers count on. If you have a stump that needs to be removed, contact us, and schedule an appointment for us to come out and inspect your site. Every stump has its own challenges, but Louisiana Tree Service in Baton Rouge can provide you with the stump grinding services required to provide you with an efficient, effective, and safest outcome, not to mention eliminating the stump and leaving you with a site that is open and attractive.

Plant Health Care

We commonly hear folks throw around this notion of "fertilizing my tree" or that "my tree needs to be fed." Truthfully, it is not your tree that needs fertilizing; in fact, it may be that the soil surrounding the tree is deficient in key elements. At Louisiana Tree Service, we completely understand tree development, tree physiology, and tree soil requirements. A good plant health care program begins with collecting a soil sample to evaluate the elemental soil components. Trees need twenty components in the soil for strong vigor and vitality. Louisiana Tree Service will send soil samples off to an Agronomy Lab for testing, then understand what elements are deficient in the soil. From there, we will build a Plant Health Care Program that will guide you in giving the best soil conditions to your tree. Every tree and every site is different, and each tree species has its own set of requirements to thrive. Once the soil samples are returned, the highly trained staff at Louisiana Tree Services will issue a course of recommendation to improve the vigor and vitality of your tree.

Louisiana Tree Service utilizes a high pressured, deep root fertilization application to strategically deliver fertilizer to the soil area surrounding your tree. Our beneficial blend of organics, fungi, and elements will produce a healthy root system and tree. Each injection of the deep root implement leaves the nozzle at 200 PSI to fracture the soil and deliver the desired blend of elements at each location within the root zone. This physical action fractures the soil allowing for porosity at the soil/root interface. Arboriculturally, we know that trees need sufficient porosity to respirate; the tree will suffocate and die without sufficient porosity to respire.

Louisiana Tree Service, serving the Greater Baton Rouge area, has specialists that will deliver an appropriate Plant Health Care program for your trees.

Let our team of highly educated and trained professionals develop a Plant Health Care program for your trees to address any decencies that your trees may have. Once a system is in place, it is easy to maintain, and the lasting results are priceless. With Louisiana Tree Service looking after your trees, you will not have to worry. Call us today to get your trees healthy and thriving.

Root Therapy - Air Spading/Mulching

The root system of a tree is known to grow and develop out some 1-2 times the tree's height. In an urban system, the proper development of roots according to this standard is impossible due to conflict with development, concrete, poor soil conditions, limited space, and infrastructure constraints. Many times, the soil near a tree becomes compacted and compressed. When this soil condition happens, the tree responds by adapting to this condition, and the root system grows and develops as it can in soils where the conditions for respiration are met. This can lead to a decline in health for the tree, or it can lead to a root system that is poorly developed. Louisiana Tree Service utilized an Air Spade to inject pressurized air to fracture the soil and ad sufficient porosity to the soil. The air spade will blow away the soil to expose the tree's roots without damaging the roots. The Arborist at Louisiana Tree Service then meticulously removes problematic roots and adds mulch and beneficial elements to establish a new healthy root system.

If you suspect that your tree is weakened by a poorly developed root system, or you notice girdling roots, give us a ring, and we can advise whether air spading is appropriate for your tree.

Tree Planting

There is much more to planting trees than the act of simply placing the roots in the ground. Great tree planting begins with the selection of the right tree for the right space. The professionals at Louisiana Tree Service have planted thousands of trees throughout the Great Baton Rouge area, and we dare say more than any other tree service. We know a thing or two about tree planting! Trees are the most significant part of the living landscape, and they are just that living!! The right tree needs to be selected to fit each space. Healthy trees grow and mature, and in an urban system, it is critical that a tree's development, habit, and characteristics be understood to meet goals and objectives.

If you do not know what tree may work for your yard, do not worry, we can assist by evaluating the space, listening to your objectives, and discussing what options for tree planting work best for your site.

With our team in charge of planting your trees, you can count on them getting off to a vigorous start.

Just a few lasting points to consider, trees are a rather permanent addition to your landscape, compared to shrubs and other greenery. They will grow as they mature, so we can assist you through education on different species and how they will mature and develop over their life. These are ideas we can help you evaluate. It is important to us that you are happy with the work we do today, tomorrow and for years to come. Tree planting is a situation where you need to think about the short term and long term. Trees are an investment at planting, during maintenance, and at maturity, but they also yield value to your property, wildlife, and the community.

"The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has started to understand the meaning of life." Unknown Author
